There is an unfortunate myth that tinnitus cannot be treated. This is entirely false. We have successfully treated thousands of tinnitus sufferers using evidence-based solutions that are proven to work. A single 'cure' for all forms of tinnitus is not available, but tinnitus can be treated very successfully.
We offer tinnitus therapy at 5 locations in London including the Neuro-Otology Centre in the Harley St enclave - 32 Devonshire Place, London W1G 6JL. The Neuro-Otology Centre is considered to be a Centre of Excellence in Audiological Medicine & Tinnitus Management.
Since the late 1980s, pioneering tinnitus management programs have been offered at 32 Devonshire Place, with thousands of satisfied patients benefiting from it's innovative and highly effective tinnitus therapies. It was the first centre of it's kind for managing distressing tinnitus and was always seen as the UKs foremost centre for tinnitus management and research.
Initially Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) was the main program followed and it proved to be very successful, attracting the referrals of hundreds of GPs and specialists around the country. The principles behind TRT are as relevant today as ever. However, the science behind Tinnitus relief has also moved on enormously, especially in the last few years
At Audiological Science we continue to be at the forefront of tinnitus management, implementing and evolving tinnitus solutions based on scientific research only. We formulate our own therapies based on what we have seen work, both in reputable research papers and in our clinic. Tinnitus therapy is a science and our service revolves only around evidence-based solutions.

Sometimes there is a medical condition causing your tinnitus. Unlike other standard 'Hearing Centres', Audiological Science is part of an integrated Audiological Medicine team, based at the London Neuro-Otology Centre. If you have not been screened for medical causes of tinnitus, then we are able to arrange this with our in-house Audiological Physician, where necessary.
Most tinnitus sufferers have a hearing loss, even it is very mild and rarely noticeable. Therefore, any assessment of tinnitus must involve a hearing assessment and other tinnitus-related assessments. For those with hearing loss, specialist hearing devices have been developed in recent years, to focus on aspects of tinnitus management. Some are truly invisible and are easy to get used to, usually providing almost instant tinnitus relief. In studies, over 95% of tinnitus sufferers have expressed significant tinnitus relief with the current range of instruments available.
It has been well-documented within tinnitus research that anxiety and stress can bring on tinnitus or make tinnitus worse. In turn, the patient's worry about tinnitus can make the stress and anxiety worse, setting off a viscous cycle. At Audiological Science, our Tinnitus Management Department includes professional counsellors, therapists and psychologists / psychiatrists that can help manage the psychological element in tinnitus distress specifically.
Audiological Science founded the London Tinnitus Support Group in 2014. It is still going strongly and is a very active group ! The group is open to all. The LTSG is based on the British Tinnitus Association Support Group principles. Research has shown that these groups can assist in Tinnitus Management. Call us for further details Tel - 020 8059 9645
